I find the best way to beat insomnia is to read "Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone". It's the only book I've ever read that I've fallen asleep reading.
I find I'm more likely to fall asleep reading a good book, just because I'm more likely to keep on reading even though I am dead tired.
Of course, then I have the problem of my mind carrying on what I've been reading in a substantially more nonsensical form, and then it sometimes takes me a little while to work out where I stopped actually reading the text and my head took over.

Ahh, my cure suggestion failed. :( But my birthday present succeeded, so it's all good! Back to Durkheim I go... x

I'm implying it's boring.
